Delicious Food to Start Your Day

Breakfast is served in the flag stoned kitchen at a time of your choosing.
Fresh fruit to wake up those sleepy taste buds and fruit juice.
Later in the year, fresh figs and raspberries from our garden.
Cereals are also available.
Followed by the cooked food of your choice.
Sausages from Mr. Mott, the Butcher in Main Street, made by himself.
Thick cut bacon. Tomatoes, from our greenhouse when possible. Fish is usually available.
Free range eggs. Home made marmalades, jams and curds. Delicious.
Mostly cooked and prepared in front of you.
When we say food is fresh and freshly cooked we mean it.
Many of the teas and coffees used at Penfro are Fairtrade.
Do let me know if you have a special diet.
I can generally offer interesting choices for vegetarians and vegans.
Special diets may best be served if I am notified when you make your reservation.
If you are coeliac, that's easy for me, so is my husband.
Let me know in advance if you would like me to bake gluten free bread.
I planted several fruit trees in 2007, hoping that an orchard
will be my long term contribution to this wonderful old property.
Also several new fruit bushes, red and black current, gooseberries and blueberries.
We may need to wait until 2010for a decent crop, and longer for the fruit trees,
but this house has stood here since c1760, so time isn't a problem.
In 2009, the crop of blackcurrants was super and a friend who makes wondrous pastry agreed to cook up a storm making pies and crumbles aplenty for the freezer, I was even ready to buy a freezer! We arranged I would call her as soon as I had picked the fruit, it rained the next three days and finally, sunshine and off I went with my boxes to fill - only to find not a one left - birds! #*%@##!!!! Next year there will be netting and armed guards!
